Context

Snellings tattoos are drawings she created of some of her favorite brutalist Berlin architecture: the Bierpinsel, part of the social housing flats on Admiralstrasse and the Forschungseinrichtung für experimentelle Medizin, better known as the Mäusebunker. She has also made small-scale sculptures of these buildings. Her Bierpinsel sculpture is in the collection of Berlinische Galerie and the Sozialwohnungen Admiralstrasse and Mäusebunker are/were also part of her solo exhibition at Haus am Lützowplatz end of 2024.

Instructions

The moons can also be only an outline, or no moon at all. The buyer can do one, two or all three tattoos. Tracey asks you to send a picture of the realized work also to tracey@traceysnelling.com.

About Tracey Snelling

American multimedia artist Tracey Snelling combines sculpture, installation, video and photography in her work and has a particular penchant for constructing small building sculptures. She also works with mixed media, such as painting over everyday images and photographs. Her works are/were recently shown in solo exhibitions at Procuratie Vecchie in Venice and at Haus am Lützowpltaz, Berlin.

Fun fact

in 2018, during her solo exhibition First We Take Manhattan, Tracey did a tattoo performance at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, where she received a tiger tattoo on her upper arm in a life-sized bedroom installation.
