MANIFESTO
WORKS ON SKIN (thank you, Charlie Stein, for coming up with the name) – Art editions forever! We’ve come to stay. We have skin in the game. We’re here to put a dent into the art market. (Or as Kennet Lekko says: „We’re not here to take part, we’re here to take over.“) For us and for the artists, for money, for beauty and for progress. We’re pushing the envelope on what an artwork is, where it starts and when it ends.
We do something very new that has not been done. And we do something very old, almost ancient, dating back to the origins of cultural, if not human history. We’re innovating, but in a very analogue way. Innovation like in the old days. We find a sweet spot in the market. Then we put our teeth in. The sweet spot is a brand new ten thousand years old art genre that we place our bets on as first mover.
We’ve come a long way: from works in stone, works on stone, works in gold, works on wood, works on canvas, works on paper, works on silicon, works in thin air … But it all started with works on skin. Tattoos are probably older than the oldest cave paintings. This is where art started: on and under the skin. We put the skin back in the art game.
That’s WORKS ON SKIN.
