About Slater Bradley
Slater Bradley (born 1975, San Francisco) is an American conceptual and cross-disciplinary artist renowned for his evocative work in video, photography, painting, and installation. Bradley’s practice foregrounds themes of myth, pop culture, and spirituality, most notably through his acclaimed “Doppelgänger Trilogy,” which interrogates identity and collective memory by substituting himself with an actor to reflect on celebrity and loss. He earned a BA from UCLA in 1998 and launched his international career at only 22; in 2005, he became the youngest artist to have a solo show at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York. Bradley’s more recent work explores sacred geometry, astrological motifs, and immersive installations that invite meditative reflection on ancient and contemporary consciousness. Described as “something of a cult hero” for his genre-defying, spiritual approach, he lives and works in Berlin, Germany, and his art has been featured in major institutions including MoMA, Whitney, and Aspen Art Museum.
