About Manon Awst
Welsh artist Manon Awst combines architecture, sculpture, and performance to create a captivating synthesis. Born and raised on the rugged coast of Anglesey, she studied architecture in Cambridge before turning to art. Her creative journey took her to Berlin, where she spent a decade as part of the artist duo Awst & Walther, gaining international recognition. Awst's works, often site-specific and ecologically inspired, explore the complex relationships between humans, nature, and landscape. Whether it's installations of mussel shells in Berlin or performances at Neolithic sites in Wales, her art consistently prompts reflection on our connection to the environment. Today, Awst lives in Caernarfon, where she develops innovative projects at the intersection of art and ecology, most recently as a Future Wales Fellow.
