About Manfred Peckl
Manfred Peckl, born in 1968 in Wels, Austria, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin known for his dynamic use of language and media across performance, collage, painting, music, and sculpture. He studied Visual Design at Hochschule für Kunst und Gestaltung, Linz, and Painting and Art Theory at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, grounding his practice in both theoretical and practical approaches to art. Peckl’s work is characterized by a playful interrogation of words and signs, often featuring repeated and overlapping text motifs that challenge viewers to reconsider meaning through layered visual and semantic shifts, such as “ASH” becoming “CASH” or “HIT” turning into “SHIT” upon closer inspection. His art explores the tension between designation and perception, mixing abstract and concrete concepts while invoking collective visual memory. Peckl has exhibited widely, with solo shows across Europe and the USA, and his works are included in important private and corporate collections, demonstrating his significant impact on contemporary art. Besides visual art, he is involved in music and youthful performance, showcasing a restless and experimental creative spirit.
