Context

There are often recurring graphic symbols in Jenny Brosinski’s work. The sun, for example – or the association with vehicles is always quickly made by two squiggles. Art historical references or allusions to these curlicue gestures can be found in works by Debuffet, Miró, Twombly or the CoBrA group. The dynamics of these few lines and the ‘mobile’ as a means of escape are closely linked to her biography.

About Jenny Brosinski

Jenny Brosinski, born in Celle, Germany, is a trail-blazing contemporary artist who has made waves in the art world with her unique approach to abstract painting. Based in Berlin, Brosinski's work is characterised by its minimalist aesthetic and unconventional use of materials. Her large-scale canvases often feature a deconstructed style, combining oil paints with everyday items like dirt, dust, and even laundry detergent. What sets Brosinski apart is her process-oriented approach, which invites viewers into her studio experience. Her work often draws comparisons to minimalism, calligraphy, and even children's mark-making. In 2019, Brosinski expanded her repertoire to include sculpture, creating whimsical animal figures that showcase her subtle humour. With international exhibitions spanning from Seoul to Los Angeles, Brosinski's art has found its way into prestigious collections worldwide. Her unique vision and fearless experimentation continue to push the boundaries of contemporary art.

Instructions

Motif has to be tattooed with fine needle and highly detailed. Looking at your tattoo will transport you to another place while you listen to your favourite song in your head - and it will bring you love, light and peace. The best is yet to come.

  • Colour

car: ink blue , sun: red, gestures: black and dark grey for the bird

  • Position

Moving or still, like ankles, neck... Jenny Brosinski would favour places where it's not stretched. The stomach might be more difficult. She would also recommend a place where you can take a quick peek – but you have to find the perfect spot yourself.

  • Scalable

No. Ideally, the size of the motif should not exceed that of a spontaneous sketch of a telephone note... because it should correspond to an inner impulse, a marginal note, which should preserve the necessary spontaneity in the tattoo.
