About Andreas Hachulla
Andreas Hachulla, born in 1980 in Leipzig, is a multi-talented artist who seamlessly blends architecture, digital art and music. Growing up in the shadow of the Leipzig School, Hachulla experienced the transformation of East Germany firsthand. He studied architecture at TU Darmstadt from 2000 to 2007, but his artistic journey began much earlier. Since 1994, Hachulla has been exhibiting his artwork, and in 1996, he started performing live music.
Hachulla's unique artistic style, which he calls "digital impressionism," captures the pulsating energy of Berlin's nightlife. Using his smartphone, he creates vibrant digital drawings in clubs where photography is prohibited, offering a fresh perspective on the city's underground scene. His work has been showcased internationally, including at the Slim Cinema Vertical Film Festival in New York City and the YOYO Palais de Tokyo in Paris.
As an architect, Hachulla has worked on major projects like the renovation of the Axel-Springer-Passage in Berlin. He believes in the synergy between architecture and art, often using his digital sketching techniques for both creative expression and professional communication. When he's not designing buildings or creating digital art, Hachulla unleashes his musical passion as a bass player in the death metal/hardcore band Denied Reality, which he co-founded in 1994.
