The first realized works on skin
“True Love” by Estonian artist Kennet Lekko and “Brutal Berlin” by American artist Tracey Snelling are the first two works that two enthusiastic new art collectors have had tattooed. For Kristina and Max, the decision to see the work through to the end was made just minutes after finding out about Works on Skin.
The first session took place at a press event at the Buchstabenmuseum. Tattoo artist Carolin Diamanti applied Lekko's subtly ironic motif to the leg of a Berlin woman who had immediately decided on the motif shortly beforehand after meeting Kennet Lekko at a vernissage in the SMAC gallery.
Max Rauschenbach had Snelling's drawing of the Admiralstrasse council apartments engraved by tattoo artist Diana Adnan in the Jiyu studio in Kreuzberg. The work of Snelling, whose work he has followed and admired for a long time, is also important to him personally, as he works not far away at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien and sees the council apartments every day.
